The British Exploring Society is a UK-based youth development charity dedicated to empowering young people through transformative expeditions to remote and challenging environments. These journeys are designed to foster confidence, teamwork, leadership, and a spirit of adventure among participants.
Patron’s contributions help fund a variety of ambitious expeditions both within the UK and abroad, benefitting young people, including those living with disabilities, in care, or facing complex family challenges. These experiences provide participants with practical skills, resilience, confidence, and self-belief, equipping them with tools to navigate life successfully and pursue their goals.
Last year, Patron sponsored a three-week expedition to the Yukon in Canada for 34 young explorers and 16 volunteer leaders. The adventure included hiking, paddling, and engaging in scientific experiments. Following the expedition, the young explorers reported significant growth in their confidence and notable improvements in teamwork and leadership skills.
