The British Exploring Society is a youth development charity that believes challenges and experiences can transform lives. The charity organises challenging expeditions in wild and remote locations of the UK and abroad for young people, including those living with a disability, in need of care and tackling complex family issues These expeditions equip young explorers with new-found practical skills, resilience, confidence and self-belief to carry forward to their future life.
Recently, Patron sponsored the three-week Yukon expedition, Canada for 34 young explorers and 16 volunteer leaders including hiking, paddling and scientific projects. Post expedition, the young explorers reported that their confidence had grown significantly, and they had developed better teamworking and leadership skills.
